Chakancha Raja Shri ChhatrapatiNagar Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Chakan is a non-profit organization based in Chakan, established in 1998. Our members come from various religions and backgrounds, uniting to form a dedicated group of over 500 individuals. We engage in various activities under the organization's banner, including Tree Plantation, Blood Donation, Health Checkup Camps, Eye Testing Camps, and regular visits to orphanages. One of our most special events is Ganeshotsav, during which we organize popular and publicly liked events throughout the year.
Since our establishment in 1998, we started with a small and congested pandal. Originally initiated by local children, we now look back with pride at our journey. Initially, our decorations were simple, but over the years, we began arranging elaborate statue decorations, including significant acts such as "Bhakti-Shakti," "Markandey Shivbhakti," "Vatsiddhanath Janm," and "Sita Haran," featuring large statues of Ravan and Sita.
From 2012, we shifted to performing live dramas during Ganeshotsav, which are written, directed, and performed by our own members, focusing on social awareness themes. Below are some notable performances:
"Stri Bhruna Hatya" - This skit, performed by 8 artists, earned us the 4th Prize in the competition organized by Rashtra Seva Dal, Chakan.
"Shetkaryachi Atmahatya" - Addressing the high rate of farmer suicides, this skit, performed by 25 artists, won the 1st Prize.
"Gosht Eka Parichi" - Highlighting special children and those from orphanages, we also arranged social messages during the visarjan miravnuk. We won the 1st Prize in this competition.
"Swarajya Ek Navi Survat" - Comparing the era of Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the current situation, this skit won the 1st Prize.
"Jivan Ek Sangharsh" - Addressing issues like student suicides, alcoholism, and problems faced by teenagers and elderly, this drama won the 1st Prize in Lokamanya Mahotsav organized by the Maharashtra Government and the 2nd Prize by Chakan Nagar Parishad.
"Shaurya Gatha Veer Javanachi" - A tribute to the Indian army, this emotional drama was highly appreciated.
"Nasha Ayushyachi Durdasha" - Focused on youth addiction issues, this skit continued our streak of 1st Prize wins.
"Shaurya Gatha Sangramdurgachi" - Celebrating our Silver Jubilee, we honored Chakan and Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with a depiction of the Sangramdurg fort battle.
"Swari Lalmahalachi" - Depicting Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s attack on Lal Mahal, this performance showcased significant historical events.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our members actively sought beds, Remdesivir, and plasma for patients. We donated over 1000 grocery kits to those in need during the lockdown and provided support for funerals and other medical issues across Chakan and nearby areas.
